Sudha Murty (Sudha Murthy) is a well-known philanthropist and a chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, who is awarded by Padma Shri as well as Raja Lakshmi Awards. Along with this, she has also developed 60,000 libraries and more 16,000 toilets in India.

Wiki/Biography

Sudha Murty was born on 19 August 1950 in Shiggaon in north Karnataka, India. She completed her B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology and M.E in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science with the first rank and also received a gold medal.

She is known for her contribution to literature in Kannada and English languages. Along with this, she is also a good teacher who got the “Best Teacher Award” in 1995 from Rotary Club at Bangalore.

Along with this, she also loves to write books. She wrote many books based on her childhood, hospitality, realizing views on donations and charity.

Sudha Murty was also presented in Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 11 as a guest in KBC Karamveer during Finale Week.

Husband, Children & Family

Sudha Murthy was born in a Madhwa family, a daughter of Dr. R. H. Kulkarni and Vimala Kulkarni.

While working in TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) she married N. R. Narayana Murthy who is now an Indian IT industrialist and a co-founder of Infosys.

Sudha Murty and N. R. Narayana Murthy have two children named Rohan and Akshata.

Career – First Female Engineer to Infosys Foundation

Sudha Murty joined TELCO as a first female engineer. She was joined as Development Engineer in Pune and later worked in Jamshedpur and Mumbai also.

From 1974 to 1981, she worked as Senior System Analysts in the Walchand Group of Industries in Pune.

Later in 1996, she started Infosys Foundation & till date has been the Trustee of Infosys Foundation. For more information about Infosys Foundation, you visit their website.

2004: Mrs. Murty received Raja Lakshmi Award.

2006: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam presented the Padma Shri Award to Sudha Murty.
