Mahabharat is an Indian historical and mythological drama produced by B. R. Chopra and was directed by Ravi Chopra. It was aired on the Doordarshan channel (DD National) during 1988-1990 and now it will be telecast on DD Bharati and on DD Retro.
UPDATE: Mahabharat serial will also start 3 hours telecast on DD Retro channel from 3rd May 2020 at 3:00 PM. And on Colors TV from 4th May 2020 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The script of this series was written based on ancient Indian Sanskrit epic Mahabharata and Vishnu Puran.
This series got so much popularity that channels such as 9X, Star Plus, and other channels recreated this series with higher graphics and new cast.
Now in 2020, the Mahabharat serial will get re-telecast on the DD Bharti Channel.
Due to a coronavirus lockdown, on public demand Mahabharat serial will start its repeat telecast from 28 March 2020 as said by the Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday.
From Saturday onwards, daily 2 episodes of Mahabharat will be telecasted on DD Bharati. One episode at noon from 12:00 PM and another episode in the evening from 7:00 PM.
